New skill system



Vindictive: An enemy tank, detected in the sector of +/- 8 degrees from the cannon, is visible for 2 additional seconds. The ability is activated upon reaching 100%. The effect isn’t cumulative if used by two gunners.


GoHA.Ru: Tell us about the upcoming skill improvement system. Will we have to pick one skill and level it up to 100% like before, or are we going to see something completely new?


Levon Zaharchenko, head of the Game Design team: In addition to the already existing skills we’re also adding abilities (also known to players as perks). Unlike skills, that are active right after picking them and increase in their effect as you level them up, abilities will work only when 100% mark is reached and have their full effect in place from the start.

GoHA.Ru: Tell about the process of switching to the new skill system, will the current skills be reset and what will happen to the crew experience?

Levon Zaharchenko: Crew experience will be reset for free (no losses) on all tanks (set as free for allocation) and players can use it again, this time to level up new skills and abilities.

GoHa.Ru: As we know, crewmembers will now have their own unique skills, will you tell us about them?

: Unique skills are skills that only a particular crew member can use (e.g. gunner or radio operator). For example, the player can take the skill called “Vindictive” for the gunner and it will allow him to see the enemy tank for a bit longer, even if it went behind an obstacle. One of the new skills for the radio operator is called “Last stand”, which will allow to transmit enemy coordinates for a few seconds even after the tank has been destroyed. Some skills will be more simple, like giving a bonus to the radio range or other equipment.



“No contact” ammunition storage: +12.5% to ammunition rack durability: the shells are stored in such an order they don’t contact with each other. The ability is activated upon reaching 100%. The effect isn’t cumulative when used by two loaders.


GoHa.Ru: The unique crew skills aside, are you planning to add aggregate skills? We’ve heard about the “Battle Comradeship” several times now, will there be some other new aggregate skills implemented?


Levon Zaharchenko: Initially we’re only planning to add one aggregate skill – “Battle Comradeship”.
GoHa.Ru: How are these unique kills going to work if there are several similar specialists in the a crew? For example, one of the already known perks – “Thrifty”, that grants +1 to ammunition load, will the player get +2 to ammunition load if both loaders take the perk? Or will both of them have to take it to be granted +1 bonus?

Levon Zaharchenko: We’ve taken “Thrifty” out of the game. As for the other abilities, that can be picked up by the same specialists, usually, only the largest value of the two is picked up. It’s always mentioned in ability descriptions.

GoHa.Ru: We’ve heard a lot about commander tanks, are you planning to add special abilities for the crews of these tanks, after all their role on the battlefield will be totally different.

Levon Zaharchenko:
It’s too early to talk about that.

GoHa.Ru: How many battles will a player have to participate in to be able to level up all skills? It’s likely that this number will largely depend on the player’s skill and luck, but is there some kind of a general number?

Levon Zaharchenko:
It will be impossible to pick up every single ability, so you will have to choose the most interesting and beneficial, fitting you particular play style. This is what’s called character “build” in MMORPGs.

GoHa.Ru: Will it be possible to reset abilities and if the answer is yes, will it cost “gold” or “silver”?

Levon Zaharchenko: It’s similar to transferring the crew to a different tank: ability reset can be achieved will both gold (without experience loss) and credits (experience loss can be felt strongly or less so).



Handy man: The commander is skilled in all specializations and can replace fallen crew members with the total effectiveness of 50% of the ability level. Only main specializations can be replaced:
One crew member is down – total effectiveness equals 50% of the ability level
Two crew members are down - total effectiveness equals 25% of the ability level
Three crew members are down - total effectiveness equals 16.5% of the ability level
Four crew members are down - total effectiveness equals 12.5% of the ability level
Five crew members are down - total effectiveness equals 10% of the ability level
